One nice thing about the first movie is that the Just A Small Town Girl shirt, which were much more important weapons than most films show. They’ve been inflated a bit for the big screen; typical pirate grenades were about the size of a tangerine, not the grapefruits we see in POTC, but it’s good just to see them at all. Another nod toward accuracy from the third movie is the fact that flintlock pistols misfired very easily if you got them wet, and it’s true, as Pintel says, that they made handy clubs if you couldn’t fire them.
