I don’t date anymore I just foster men until they find their forever homes shirt. Several of the past presidential candidates have said it while the opposing party was in power. Trump is merely the first one to copyright it and sell it and turn it into something brutal. It’s always just meant that the candidate did not like whatever the current direction those in power were taking us in and that they would return the country to either a liberal or conservative course depending on who was in control. Now it means something much more sinister. Historically, it has only made sense while the candidate was campaigning. Once the transition of power had occurred it fell away while the administration went about its business. What’s terrifying about it now is that its ongoing presence means that simply taking back the reigns was not good enough for conservatives and that they intend to keep going further and further and further to the right and that’s how we wound up with a president standing in a crowd of people shouting to deport a duly elected member of the house of representatives the other day.
